Recruiting Foreign Nationals

In 2008 the government introduced it’s points based system (PBS) in an attempt to control immigration to the UK. Any employer now wishing to engage a worker from outside the EEA must be registered with the UK Border Agency as a sponsor.

There are criminal and civil penalties applied to anyone knowingly employing an individual subject to immigration control who has not been granted the right to remain in the UK or whose leave has expired.
